The cult club from Hamburg’s Kiez district, FC St. Pauli, motivates its fans by using innovative interactive services, thus generating additional ties with the club. These services are advertised in FC St. Pauli media – its website or the stadium magazine.
Within the scope of its sponsorship arvato mobile implements a variety of traditional mobile services for FC St. Pauli such as mobile wallpaper, SMS live ticker, SMS subscription services and votings by SMS, but also unconventional measures, such as an MMS-based football soap. An online pools game was also integrated.
Of particular note is the MMS-based football soap for the mobile. The MMS service gives FC. St. Pauli fans the opportunity to be more closely involved in the life of their stars. At the focus of the first soap was Benjamin Adrion, midfield player for FC St. Pauli. He gave regular reports about the experiences and events in the life of a “Kiezkicker”. Whenever something odd, exciting or interesting happened to do with the club, Benjamin Adrion spontaneously created an MMS on the subject, including a photo. AS Interactive transported this MMS immediately to all fans who had registered for the PAULISOAP.
Fans received an exclusive episode of the soap on their mobiles via MMS up to five times per week.
