Vodafone Germany and arvato mobile having been working together in mobile entertainment since 2004.
arvato mobile’s role in the partnership is to take responsibility for the entire content management of the portfolio outlined below. This includes clarifying license issues and distributing content, as well as creating and operating the Web and WAP portals.
The arvato mobile portfolio on the Vodafone live! portal comprises - Mobile Music: ringback tones, real music, real sound, polyphonic ringtones, SMS tones, video tones
- Mobile Graphics: logos, animations, themes and a logo designer which can be used to personalize logos.
The handset recognition feature in WAP ensures that only suitable mobile content is displayed. On the Web, orders can be placed with or without selecting a handset.
The mobile content is sorted into categories that are regularly updated and placed online according to a particular occasion, or season, or are given a ranking. Professionally edited teasers that can be easily created using a Teaser Tool to advertise top content and promote sales. The optional extended search function delivers targeted results that are clearly sorted according to the individual content channels.
A special service that arvato mobile has developed for Vodafone is the Content Aggregation Layer (CAL). This service allows all of the different formats of a title or artist to be displayed clearly on one page to the user. As well as the products that are managed by arvato mobile, users are also sent full track music download and video selections. This makes it easy for them to select the format in which they would like to purchase the tone.
A personalized newsletter gives customers recommendations that are generated based on their recent purchasing behaviour, i.e. a rock fan will not be sent recommendations for pop hits.
For special occasions like EURO 08, Christmas or the release of a new Madonna CD, special minisites are developed that present all graphically prepared content. By dialling the exclusive Vodafone number 55555, users can also order their content via SMS by using a keyword.
The latest application to be supplied with content by arvato mobile is the On Device Portal (ODP.) As a pre-installed client on Vodafone mobile phones, it enables users to read news or browse through new music more quickly and more conveniently. When the client is launched, it is automatically updated and the latest content is then available for browsing in the client.
arvato mobile offers Vodafone a comprehensive online reporting tool, which gives an overview of sales updated daily. Different filter settings allow the user to gain an insight into the different sales channels. By using this information, the portal can be continuously optimized to ensure maximum sales.
